HURDS Foundation, a member of GNECC Western regional chapter, embarked on a Back to school campaign at Daboase in the Wassa East district in the WR. The Girl Child Coordinator disclosed during the market storm that 45 girls got pregnant as a result of closure of schools in the district, and 35 have put to birth. A parent told the team that her child is still at home because of the Covid phobia

The digitalisation of education will continue even post COVID-19. Embracing this thought and taking critical steps to salvage the situation, especially for countries without the enabling technologies, should be key for every government, to ensure that no child is left behind.

Free Wi-Fi introduction
I can happily announce that 90% of Senior High Schools in the country have been connected to free Wi-Fi. The challenge now is how to replicate that in the Junior High schools as the Education Ministry seeks to introduce blended learning (a mixture of virtual learning and face to face) and so we will need to put in place the infrastructure to support such. It is one of our priority areas.
